Sitting Elephant

Our  sitting elephant was an onsite carving done off of Hwy W outside of  Eureka, Mo. Initially, the plan was to carve the piece onsite;  unfortunately, once we got into the wood we found a large amount of rot  in the trunk and a rather large hole in the center of the log. 

After  consulting with the client, we decided to move the operation back home,  carve the elephant separately, and after completion, mount the elephant  to the trunk as originally planned. Plan B turned out to be a success!

As with many of our custom carvings, our clients chose an elephant due  to the symbolism it holds within their own life and we were honored to  be chosen to bring their vision to life.

 Fun fact about our Pink Flamingo...When we originally started carving  it last year, we found a hole in his neck (which is an easy fix) -  before plugging it, I had one of our twins draw a picture to put in the  gap before we closed and sealed it. So, there is a secret treasure  hidden within and a special memory for one of our little guys who will forever be a part of our Flamingo.
